Hi! I'm Becky!
I will make you as comfortable as possible in front of my camera. I will probably ask you to do things that seem silly. Spin around. Give your best model walk. But we'll laugh together while you're doing it. And those will make for the best pictures.
I want to take photos that show who YOU are! Your photos should tell YOUR story!
I love capturing people in their truest form. Being authentically themselves, whether that means silly, shy, funny, goofy, serious. Everyone is unique and brings their own wonderful self to the table.
So I'm guessing you don't want to hear another photographer's story of how I learned to love photography at a young age, grew up with a camera in my hand taking pictures of everyone, went off to school, blah, blah, blah... am I right? So, instead, I'll give you this...
I haven't climbed Mount Everest. I haven't danced with wolves, or wrestled with a croc. I've been to 3 other countries besides the US. I haven't even been to half of the 50 states. (I think it was 22 last time I counted.) But I have been to some amazing places with my family. We make the best of what we do. I have my camera with my a lot. Except when I don't. And that's when there's an eagle sitting on the side of the road. Or my kids decide to be super good, get along, and laugh with each other. Then I don't have any proof that it actually happened!
But I do put myself into every creative thing that I do. And I will do that for your photo session.
I believe...
- that children are our future. (10 pts. for you if you sang that! ☺) But really, they are. So let's raise them up & show them they matter!
- that dogs are the greatest thing ever invented
- that chocolate is the second best
- that 50° & sunny is much better than 90° & humid
- that somehow, someway, you should be doing what you love!
- that a good book on the deck at 7am is the best way to start your day (if I only could every day!)
- in teamwork & community
- that you can accomplish as much in sweats & a t-shirt as you can in a "power-suit" - it just all depends on YOUR style.
- that life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
A LITTLE BIT OF MY LIFE...
If you've made it all the way down here, here's a little more info about me!
I love ... watching my kids be themselves & do things they love, dogs, hiking, exploring, the beach, eating outside in summer, watching sunrises, watching sunsets, waterfalls, yoga, baking cookies, camping, kayaking, hammocks, nature, music, dancing, an awesome workout, tulips, a cozy sweatshirt with leggings, jean shorts & tank tops and campfires.
I'm from Chicago, born & raised... love that city, hate the traffic - I CONSTANTLY have song lyrics pop into my head... sometimes for no good reason - I spent so much time at the YMCA when I was a kid, probably more time there than at home - I'm an introvert, but still love people - my husband proposed to me in the parking lot of a bar - I ultimately want to live on a beach on the ocean, in the mountains with warm weather (not really above 80° though!), and Spring & Autumn, too, but snow for about a month or 2 a year. If you can help me find that place, I'll be very grateful!
